Another girl Parul Berry got AIR 30, she was third Tricity topper in NEET. Another Student Anurag got AIR 92 while in SC category he got AIR 2. Another student Vaibhav Garg got AIR 93 in AIIMS while his NEET rank was AIR 69. Total seven students made it to top 100 from Tricity this year. Ishm from Chandigarh school got AIR 60.
Panchkula girl Mehak Arora, 17, has topped Tricity for the second time as in NEET also she had topped with AIR 31. With this she had also stood second in Haryana in NEET while she has topped Haryana state in AIIMS with AIR 3.
Mehak said that she was expecting a good score but this certainly came as a surprise to her. She had been aiming for AIIMS even though she had topped NEET.
For Mehak, her father’s untimely demise due to alleged medical negligence was the reason which inspired her to pursue medical. “I was in Class VII when I lost my father. My mother tells me he just had a toothache. The doctor gave him some injection and he died after that. So, I want to become a doctor and save lives,” the resident of Panchkula’s Sector 11 had told TOI.
According to Mehak one should have fun along with studies as this is what helped her secure this rank. She used to study for six to seven hours. Mehak’s mother Renu is a chartered accountant. Mehak had scored 92.6% in her Class XII board exams. A Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) and National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) scholar, Mehak was also selected for the second stage of both Biology and Chemistry Olympiads. She was amongst the top 1% selected students in Physics Olympiad. She had scored 95.4% in her Class X board exams. She was a student of Sri Guru Gobind Singh School sector 35.
Manraj Singh Sra, who got AIR 4 in AIIMS had got AIR 159 in NEET. A student of SD School in sector 24 said that he was sure of qualifying the exam but AIR 4 “feels great”. Coming for a family of doctors he is now aiming AIIMs Delhi. Hios prents are his inspiration. In class XII he scored 93.6% marks. He shared that he used to study for 8 to 10 hours. In his free time he likes to read novels.
Sagar Mishra, 17, a student of DC Montessori School Manimajra, had secured the fourth position in the Tricity with AIR 49 in NEET while jumping up this time he has got AIR 15 and is third in Tricity so far. Sagar has many feathers to his cap as he even cracked JEE advance recently but his main aim he said was AIIMS. He is also a KVPY and NTSE Scholar who cleared the stage I of Biology Olympiad.
Sagar, who aims to become a neurosurgeon said that he was inspired by his My grandfather, who died of Parkinson’s disease to choose medial stream.
